VA - Quelques coups d'éclat (2025)

Brest is exploding! The Petit Tonnerre collective has just unleashed the compilation Quelques coups d’éclat, and it’s a real salvo—20 new songs, all from local bands, all raw, authentic, and done their own way. The tracklist features familiar faces like Secteur Pavé, Syndrome 81, Litovsk, and Flèches, but also a ton of other bands that are grinding away in garages and basements, and now finally have a chance to be heard not just by locals, but by everyone else. It’s a mix of Oi!, punk, and post-punk—from sharp street anthems to darker, more moody tracks. It’s available digitally on Bandcamp and YouTube now, and soon (September 19, 2025), there will be vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. They’ll be kicking things off with an outdoor release party in Brest where the whole scene will get together—exactly the way it should be. I think the entire idea is absolutely brilliant, and the fact that someone took it from an idea to a real physical release deserves admiration. This isn’t just a compilation. It’s a document of the current punk scene from a city at the end of the world where things are still boiling, and proof that the DIY spirit is alive and well.

Brest est en ébullition ! Le collectif Petit Tonnerre vient de sortir la compilation « Quelques coups d’éclat », une véritable déflagration : 20 nouveaux titres, tous issus de groupes locaux, bruts, authentiques et réalisés à leur manière. On y retrouve des groupes connus comme Secteur Pavé, Syndrome 81, Litovsk et Flèches, mais aussi une foule d’autres formations qui travaillent d’arrache-pied dans des garages et des caves, et qui ont enfin l’opportunité de se faire entendre non seulement des locaux, mais de tous les autres. C’est un mélange d’Oi!, de punk et de post-punk, allant d’hymnes urbains percutants à des morceaux plus sombres et mélancoliques. La compilation est disponible en téléchargement sur Bandcamp et YouTube dès maintenant, et sortira prochainement (le 19 septembre 2025) en vinyle, CD et cassette. Le lancement aura lieu lors d’une fête en plein air à Brest, où toute la scène se réunira – comme il se doit. Je trouve l'idée absolument géniale, et le fait qu'elle ait pu être concrétisée en un véritable album mérite l'admiration. Ce n'est pas qu'une simple compilation. C'est un témoignage de la scène punk actuelle d'une ville du bout du monde où l'effervescence est toujours palpable, et la preuve que l'esprit DIY est bel et bien vivant.
