Latin Jazz, Vocal Jazz | Label: The Audiophile Society

Once in a great while, a truly iconic artist emerges — not a commercial fabrication, not a product of marketing, but a rare, genuine voice of deep artistry and technical brilliance. Patricia Moreno is one of those artists.

With the release of Volver, Moreno stakes her place among the greatest Latin Jazz Singers of our time. In the tradition of the legendary Baroque coloratura virtuosos, she brings that same fearless agility, precision, and imagination to the world of Latin jazz — a realm where very few voices have ever reached such heights. Her voice and technique exist on another level entirely.

On this album, Moreno reimagines classical Latin repertoire — including Amalia, Carlos Gardel’s Volver and El día que me quieras, and newly composed Chorinhos — transforming them through breathtaking scatting, improvisation, and vocal invention. Each song becomes a living canvas where tradition and spontaneity collide.

Joined by her father, guitarist/arranger, Arnoldo Moreno and guitarist Ignacio “Nacho” Giovanetti, the trio crafts arrangements of remarkable elegance and rhythmic complexity. The guitars shimmer with intimacy and fire, forming the perfect foundation for Patricia’s fearless explorations.

Moreno reflects on the experience
“I’ve always loved using my voice as an instrument — shaping melodic lines, coloring textures, playing with phrasing and agility, exploring my range, diving deep into rhythm and tone. But these Chorinhos pushed me further than anything I’ve sung before: they are rhythmically intricate, harmonically rich, and technically highly demanding. They took me to new places in my scatting and improvisation, where instinct, breath, and pure joy take over — and the music becomes something truly alive.”

Beyond the Chorinhos, the album journeys across Latin America. Each piece reveals a different emotional world — folkloric, lyrical, dramatic, and deeply personal
