Chris McNulty - Soul Journey (2026)

'Soul Journey' is Chris McNulty's 8th album and her first release recorded in Australia featuring Australian, American and expatriate European jazz musicians. Her previous releases were all recorded in NYC and released on American labels. McNulty's 'Soul Journey' uses her sonic and compositional skills to explore a deeply personal journey through past, present and future. The album features seven McNulty originals along with five of her favourite standards from the Great American Songbook.

The global vocal jazz community recently lost several extraordinary vocal jazz musicians. This album is dedicated to them to honour their outstanding contributions to the vocal jazz canon. Jay Clayton, Nancy King, Andy Bey, Carol Sloane, Mark Murphy and Sheila Jordan were all trail blazers and true originals. Fearlessly inventive with their very own unique artistry, their commitment to their craft never wavered through eras when creative vocal jazz musicians were often overlooked or under recognised. Jay, Andy, Mark and Sheila especially, built a global community drawing singers in with open arms. At the core of their mentorship was their love and respect for all the singers of the world. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. Your music and spirit energy continues to shape and inspire us to keep pushing forward. Deeply missed but remembered always.
